"When we moved to PEI we drove around a lot looking for a home to buy. It became clear quite quickly that yard art is the norm here. I might just have to put that seahorse fountain in my yard to fit in with the neighbors.
This weekend we passed this house on our way to the ice cream shop. I think they might like dogs."
I'm not sure... let the expert make the call
mmmmmm
Ah ha......
OK, you may be right
Score (list provide by Marguerite A, my comments are in red)
- 14 shadow dogs on the right side of the house: 14 points
- 2 dog statues at the back steps and possibly a third on the back porch (yeah, probably a third there): 3 points
- 14 dog statues on the front porch: 14 points
- 1 dog sun catcher in window (seems to be inside the window) 0 points
- 1 ceramic dog in window sill (again, inside the house, the scary scary psycho dog lover house): 0 points
- 1 house number with hand painted dog: 0 points (functional sign)
- 13 dog shadows on left side of house: 13 points
- neighbor's fire hydrant amidst all these dogs! : 0 points (and I have a vague sense of unease for the neighbors)
Subtotal: 44 points
Creativity Bonus
For the dogged (sorry) obsession of the dog family in the blue house and real curiosity if said family even owns a dog: 4 points

Welcome to the hallowed halls of the Royal Order of the Golden Manatee
Now a game for us: How many breeds do you think are represented at the blue house? I will start it off with an Irish Setter.

I'll say poodle, because I can't spell the difficult ones!
ReplyDeleteShouldn't the rooster in the crest be replaced with a dog just this once????
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with this first entry!
I see for sure, a pomeranian, Airedale, bulldog, poodle, corgi, cocker... on the side with the fire hydrant. I don't really recognize the other ones.
ReplyDeletePossibly a Scottie, and one looks suspiciously cat-like!
ReplyDeleteI am also pretty sure that one is a Cairn terrier. ChrisJ, one does look catlike but I believe in the theme, so I may need to do some research.
ReplyDeleteWow, a golden manatee. I’m blown away. Now I’m worried that I’ve set the bar too high for myself. How will I ever be able to keep up the momentum?
ReplyDeleteYeah, you don't want to get the Oscar curse.
ReplyDeleteWe will be watching...this was a pretty unusual yard. What else does PEI have in store for us?
