The greatest honor that a yard art/field reporter can be awarded is the Gold Manatee. The Gold Manatee is assigned for the highest possible score of 4 points in the Creativity Bonus. Yards, small and large collections or perhaps a single item can inspire sufficient awe for this auspicious award.
My favorite Manatee Moment for each field reporter inducted in the Royal Order of the Golden Manatee is eligible for this glorious prize:
A manatee suncatcher (sparkles not included )

I clicked my choice and no counter? Did I miss something?
ReplyDeleteGWGT, voting starts at 8 am.
ReplyDeleteI see it now. I did miss something.
ReplyDeleteI can't decide... Either Bunnies Buffet or Lola Nova.... any bribes?
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI voted. Does it show who voted for what? So many choices!
BTW...You won the drawing for the mini-calender. Just let me know your mailing address.... I have a contact tab on my blog with my e-mail and you can contact me that way. Congrats!
Rosey
Rosey, whoo-hoo I won something!!!! After you vote, you will be able to see the current score. But you cannot tell who voted for who. If you have not noted, all you see is stars.
ReplyDeleteTufa Girl, those are both excellent choices. I'm glad I am not deciding the winner.
astro-turf and jesus rules.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is a tough competition--I had fun voting though.
ReplyDeleteDiane, I know that yard was almost a category all to itself.
ReplyDeleteSlamdunk, thank you. You have inspired me this year with your suggestions.
I had two to pick too. I picked Tufa Girl but also wanted Bunnies Buffet. At least I let her know. And no bribes were exchanged.
ReplyDeleteGEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ this is harder than I thought.....but I'm going with Lola Nova's, its very reminiscent of something that would be in our beloved state's own magazine "Weird New Jersey".
ReplyDeleteI am so looking forward to playing this year!!!! YAY ME!
Number 13 is my favorite! Very creative!
ReplyDeleteBlessed New Year Highway :)
GWGT - the check is in the mail...
ReplyDeleteI had to go with the fairy angels. Now I have to go out and buy a display like that... for my mom's yard.
ReplyDeleteJester, I was a great year. Just imagine the possibilities for 2011.
ReplyDeleteTufa Girl, Whatever works
Eliza, putting stuff in your Mom's yard and then taking pictures is an excellent plan.
Hi, My first impression of your blog was that it wasn't for me. Then I voted to be polite. Now I'm wondering if I need to ask permission to take photos of gnomes. (I don't have anything "artistic" in my garden.) I think you could be a bad influence ..... b-a-g
ReplyDeleteb-a-g. Don't worry I am not for a lot of people. I don't take offense. There can only be but so many yard art connoisseurs. All of these yards are not the actual yards of the players. They capture their find on film. Like bird watching only with gnomes and stuff. It may be an acquired taste. Thank you for voting. You can ask permission or brave stealth photography. Either way is fine.
ReplyDeleteCome on in, the water is fine.
Very, very hard...deep consideration required. I won't be able to sleep tonight, but I did it---it had to be the chairee tree, which I truly consider art in addition to yard art. Is there a difference---maybe we could start a debate?
ReplyDeleteGreat voting technology.
Oh, the choice was TOUGH. I had to pick the one that I would least want in the yard next door to me. I am REALLY grateful none of these contestants live by me. Really. Grateful.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn, I know what you mean. There are so many beauties to choose from. Actually I have given thought to what is art and what is yard art but have decided to stick with what I know. Besides, on the rare occasion I call art, no points are given. Players hate that.
ReplyDeleteLin, that is a good way to go about it. I go with what delights me the most.
Hi. Just dropping here and I also voted ;-) So difficult for me to vote, each yard have their own way of criterion. I like most of them. BTW you have great blog and nice post here.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a blast! There is some stiff competition in this 'horse race'!
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up! It was hard to pick just one.
ReplyDelete#22 veesvision! score +1 more point for the astroturf!
ReplyDeletea great artist has no time to mow.
Orchid de dangau, Why thank you for the compliment and especially for voting.
ReplyDeleteShyrlene, I agree each yard stand has its own special touch. Have fun.
Amy, thanks for stopping by!
Feldspar, nothing says easy livin' like a astroturf yard.
I agonized more over this vote than any local, state, or federal election in the last 10 years. A testament to the awesome choices here, or the sorry state of American politics???
ReplyDeleteI appear to be the lone vote to date for that zebra. I mean really, that is the only choice that would clearly make you stop for a double take. The others are becoming so... common?
ReplyDeleteEl Gaucho, I am choosing the awesomeness of the yards.
ReplyDeleteMeredehuit, I love the zebra. The family has moved that zebra across the country. The zebra tongue action was just a bonus.
oh this was fun going through all the entries! I'm seriously amazed at what some people put in their yards but I'm voting for the crafty do-it-yourself dragon. I laughed out loud. Again.
ReplyDeleteit says i have one more vote- does that mean my vote didn't count?
ReplyDeleteDiane, if you are showing stars and not a count per pictures than you can vote. The application works by ip-address. So if you are at a different location then you show as a different person. And you can vote again or if you are at the same location, then you did not vote correctly.
ReplyDeleterats! I was gonna vote for my sister today because I figured we could vote once a day till the 6th.
ReplyDeletezebra tongue action?
ReplyDeleteLauren, take you laptop to a coffee shop. If you have a laptop.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the zebra goes, you just have to go look. But I speak the truth.
So many worthy competitors, but only one shot at a manatee sun catcher!
ReplyDeleteLola Nova, so true. The Manatee is waiting...
