Angst

I'm back from my not very successful horse trip but I am in one piece and Pete (my horse) is more or less in one piece (he pulled up lame and needs some time to heal). So after licking my wounds for one day (OK, two days) I am pulling myself out of my morass of self pity and starting up again with the game.

First order of business: We only had three entries for the fantasy give away for the lovely dragonflies. I am not sure if we should put it up for a vote or just have a drawing. 3 entries does not make for a very rousing voting competition. I'll let you guys decide. The winner will be chosen on March 21th either way.

Second order of business: The Yard Art Game Continues but the score will wrap up at the end of March and restart in April. I have a lot of yards in the kitty. They will not all be posted in in the next two weeks (this means you Diane). If anyone is sand bagging, better get it in. I'll choose the best ones (as in the ones that inspire me at that particular moment and get them up) Otherwise, your photos will just be used in the next quarter.

Oh and this is what a knee looks like after a water bottle has bounced on it for 22 miles:

Matt of Pass Along Plants submits:

In a world without beauty, landscaping, art or entertainment... Kermit preserves at the State Correctional Amphibian Prison
'sigh, I can stand not having a big screen TV, I just wish they would clean my litter box"

Score
  • Prison number F345678934b incarcerated for eating a beloved dragonfly on a stick: 1 point
  • Dung pile (or maybe I rock... possibly): 0 points
Subtotal: 1 point

Creativity Bonus

For the deplorable frog living conditions: no umbrella, no bench, no birdbath basically solitary confinement... the infrogmanity to frog: 1 point

Total: 2 points

Why kermit moved onto the easier prey on a stick:

  1. LH - Sorry to hear about : your horse, your knee, not much interest in your movie competition, sad demise of a dragonfly on a stick.
The good news is that your back!

  2. b-a-g, thanks...one thing is for sure you have great odds in the contest. Are you thinking we should vote or should I do a random drawing?

  3. I hate that your trip was less than perfect. Here's hoping that everyone heals quickly and completely.

I feel so bad for that poor froggie. He was framed, I tell you. Love the video, btw.

    I vote that we vote.

  4. I'm so glad you're back, but not glad you didn't have a good time. I hope your knee (ouch) and Pete heal up fast.

Poor Kermit, ewwww...what a mess he has to live in while he serves his term. Yuck. (I'm sure Tufa Girl can sympathize with her neighborhood troubles.) Whatever he has done to deserve such punishment must have been heinous; was the video Crime Scene footage of his attempted Murder?

  5. LH - I think you should award Thelma & Louise to Diane (Brad gnome looking for his daddy made me laugh so much) & Tufa Girl (for her Victoriana artistry). I was only playing for fun.

I hope Pete gets better soon.

  7. Hope you and your horse get over the lameness. Glad you both returned in one piece. the movie competition was not my fave either, but hopefully you get another entry.

  8. First, LH - I am in awe of your ability to lick your wounded knee. Did you lick Pete's wounds, too? You truly are a dedicated horsewoman.

Matt - since you were inside Kermit's prison to photograph and interview him, couldn't you have put him in your pocket and broken him free?

    B-a-g - as Diane's Mom I applaud your offer!

  9. Morning Glory, Oh I am over my trip disappointment...on to planning the next one. The knee does smart a bit though.

I am not sure the Frog was framed, he looks a bit guilty to me.

Karen, according to everything I see on TV, there is always a camera near by and there is always film footage for the crime.

b-a-g, Pete says thank you and he appreciates the time off. I'm sure Tufa and diane appreciate your sacrifice but I liked your drippy blood hearts so you are still in the running.

HolleyGarden, thanks, It looks worse than it feels (for the most part)

GWGT, yeah I guess some contest work and some do not. I think that is it for entries. No worries.

Mom L, I do not lick my horse, so he will have to heal without that particular treatment. Quit encouraging b-a-g he/she has to own up to his/her game submission.

  10. I have seen that knee in person. It is quite colourful, I was impressed.

  11. eventer79, I expect it to go through a fairly interesting color changing process. If my knee becomes more interesting than my blog, I could just post pictures of my knee.

  12. HAHAHAHA! I LOVED the Frog Fail. :) Only me would get that I guess. You don't see them miss too often.
