Cynthia of On a Hays County Hill comments and submits
While traveling this past weekend I kept my eyes open for my debut submission to the yard art game. As we were driving through a small town - I saw it! "Turn here, turn here!" I shrieked at my husband, who obligingly turned the car. I want you to know we faced danger in pursuit of these pictures, as we found ourselves heading the wrong way on a one-way street. As we faced down an oncoming car and a neighbor shouting at us, we managed to turn around in a driveway and head back, cruising slowly by the object of all this excitement.
Anyway, the photos aren't great but perhaps you can find it in your heart to give me a few measly points for the yard art pictured here.

For risking life and limb in the pursuit of a vocation as honorable as an Along Life's Highway field reporter:
may your ball always hang shiny
Tabitha and Theodore make the cast of Teddy Dance:

Cynthia, keep an eye on this yard. I bet if you swing by later this year there will be more and bigger yard animals decorations. This is a collector in the making.
ReplyDeletePerhaps, lh, you should issue official Life's Highway safety helmets.
ReplyDeleteTufa Girl, I agree. I see this yard developing. Once you add teddy bears in jeeps it is all uphill from there. They have graduated from cement deer.
ReplyDeleteeventer79, we need to revisit the official Yard Art Game uniform (helmet is included):

Tabitha & Theodore: Rebels with a dream!! Run Rebels Run!
ReplyDeleteI agree, I'd like to see a pictuer of this yard over the summer....
Jester, yes I am feeling a serial offender in the making.
ReplyDeleteCynthia keep an eye out but safely. No more wrong way turns. Check out the uniform, your hubby might like for you to wear one.
Congratulations to Cynthia on such an impressive debut and with the addition of the nail-biting story of how she and her husband braved oncoming traffic just to bring this to us!
ReplyDeleteThe Teddy bears are hoping for a little help in getting the Jeep running so they can be on time for their next River Dancing performance.
Wow, 23 points! I am filled with enthusiasm for my next jaunt! However, I will check out the uniform requirements before we head out again. Safety first!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am incredibly honored to be a recipient of the Gold Ball of Bravery. I feel I must share this honor with my dar(l)ing husband, and intrepid daughter (in the back seat). Thank you!
Run, little bears! Follow your bliss!
Karen, the story is the best part. I can just imagine the exciting chase scene.
ReplyDeleteCynthia, oh my we were just talking about you. Go ahead and share the gold ball with the family it is big enough to go around. Go team Cynthia!!!
Ahhh, how sweet a family adventure...
ReplyDeleteDaring reporting! Adorable bears! Golden Balls of Bravery! This find has something for everyone. Great job, Cynthia.
ReplyDeleteJust passing by... I wanted to ensure myself that gnomes, leprechauns and other forest's creatures were fine.
ReplyDeleteTufa Girl, it is not every family that can boast of golden balls
ReplyDeleteMorningGlory, These first time reporters really blow me away. She has a great driver, so I am expecting big things!
dona, yes everything seems to be shipshape. Thanks for checking in.
Thanks, all. My husband had some response to the golden balls thing, but I reminded him this is a family website.
ReplyDeleteCynthia, there is nothing that your husband could have said that has not already been said about our golden balls. The object is of course to get a pair.
ReplyDeleteWe are pg-13 for sure
Cynthia - remember that YOU earned the golden ball by daring to ride with your maniac husband! Well done! Is your daughter old enough to drive next time?
ReplyDeleteJester, I hope Tabitha and Theodore don't go all Thelma and Louise on us and run their vehicle over a cliff.
LH - I absolutely love the teddy bear rendition of River Dance!!!
This was worth the shriek to the husband. There are so many little what evers popping out all over the place. The bear in the red jeep got my attention.
ReplyDelete@LH - he claims he's already got 'em. Maybe I don't need to share.
ReplyDelete@mom - many years until she can drive. But I don't blame him - what's a man to do when his wife starts shrieking in the car?
Mom L, thanks for keeping the troops inspired.
ReplyDeletegwgt: a good husband is one who reacts immediately to the shriek. The red jeep is super cute.
Cynthia, I bet he thinks he does.
All - I came back to grab a teddy bear to sleep with Emma the Calico Queen and me.
ReplyDeleteLH - I try.
Cynthia - OK; maybe now that your hubby knows how loud you can shriek, he'll be more careful about one-way streets!
Bet the Teddy Bears are on a mission to run over the rabbit. Or possibly the lamb, which looks annoyingly smug. Or both...
ReplyDeletePlantaliscious, I agree the lamb looks very smug. Just because you are blessing with plastic flowers does not make you better, lambikins.
